Since William Elvis Sloan introduced the first modern flushometer in 1906, his company’s innovations have helped define the fields of commercial restroom design and water sustainability.

- 1915 – The Royal® Flushometer wins a Gold Medal at the Panama-Pacific International Expo.
- 1973 – The new Sears Tower, at the time the world’s tallest inhabited building, installs Sloan 3.5 flushometers to set a high standard for water savings.
- 1996 – Sloan debuts its first hands-free commercial faucet operated with fiber optics, which uses up to 40% less water than conventional faucets.
- 2015 – Sloan’s AER-DEC® Sink System sets new standards for beauty and hygiene by combining soap dispenser, faucet and hand dryer into one system.
